- We are a 501 (C) (3) organization made up of education and business leaders throughout Saginaw County. Our collective concern is the shortage of skilled workers in our community. Therefore, we serve as a conduit between schools and employers to ensure that they work together to create an available, competent and productive workforce ready to meet the changing demands of current and new businesses.
How important is an available, competent and productive workforce? The success of our region depends on it. More than 80% of the jobs in the very near future will be "skilled," meaning they require technically and academically challenging training beyond high school, but not necessarily the traditional four-year college degree. The technology explosion and a new global economy elevate the need for "skills" and the demand for those who master them. In Saginaw County, local businesses must have access to a skilled workforce to survive - let alone prosper. And, in order to attract new business to our area, we must demonstrate that we offer an increasingly skilled workforce.
