Wonderful things are happening in Saginaw County. The BEP would like to
honor those individuals, businesses, organizations, and schools who demonstrate
exemplary leadership in developing partnerships. The BEP is now accepting
nominations for the 2006 Celebrate Partners Awards. Please nominate those
individuals, businesses, or organizations that are successfully helping to
improve student learning in Saginaw County.
PARTNERSHIP AWARD CATEGORIES:
- Parent: A parent, foster parent, guardian, or grandparent whose collaboration with a teacher, classroom, school, business, or community group has resulted in improved student learning.
- Educator: An educator whose "classroom" extends to the community or who effectively involves business or the community in the learning process.
- Student: A student who has gone beyond traditional expectations to demonstrate service or involvement in a business or community partnership.
- School: A school that involves business and community partners in their school improvement process to provide career development activities and improved academic achievements.
- Community Volunteer: An individual who has stepped forward in their partnership and galvanized teachers, administrators, parents, students, or business to improve the quality of education in our schools.
- Organization/Business: An organization or business, public or private, which has demonstrated unique commitment to support innovation and improvement in one or more schools.
- Lifetime Achievement: A person or organization with a history of long-term involvement in promoting quality education through partnerships.
- Individuals or representatives of organizations or groups are welcome to make several nominations.
All nominees will be recognized for their efforts in a "best practices" report.

- NOMINATION CRITERIA:
Nominees may be a member of a formal or informal partnership in which a school, educator, or classroom collaborates with members of the community, a business, or an organization to improve student learning. Unique partnerships that are not part of a commercial or existing program are encouraged. Partners who meet one or more of these key characteristics are encouraged to apply:
Partnership has clearly defined goals that are measured.
Partnership sets high standards for student learners that promote higher level thinking, and problem solving.
Partnership encourages the development of other partnerships; does not operate in isolation.
Partnership is self-sustaining through existing resources.
Partnership provides an opportunity for input from parents and students.
Partnership promotes the excitement of learning.
